I wish I had a Monster Jam advent calendar. For my 3-year-old son, our annual trip to see the monster trucks is better than Christmas. This year's Denver tour included 4 shows packed into one weekend and featured the debut of the Scooby Doo monster truck.
We attended opening night and the energy in the Pepsi Center was incredible. The show featured a wheelie competition, some head-to-head racing and the fan-favorite Freestyle Competition. My 8-year-old son and his buddy particularly enjoyed the motocross racers who performed some amazingly terrifying ramp stunts and the Quad racers from Team Denver. My little guy stood up the entire time and was enthralled with all 7 of the monster trucks, but was glued to the every move of his beloved Gravedigger. While my husband and the boys were loving the loud engines, car smashing and flying dirt, I thought it was awesome that the drivers of Scooby Doo and El Toro Loco are both women (who are currently having a very successful season on the monster truck circuit).
This show is great family entertainment that won't break the bank (kids seats start at just $10). My son is already counting down to next year- only 360 more "sleeps" to go!
