Raising two boys (three if you count my husband), there are a few things that are always on our family's radar. Common questions we always hear are, "What are we doing today?" and "What's for dinner?". All the while, trying to find the most adventurous and exciting ways to spend family time. Medieval Times combined both entertainment and food into a dynamic family night!
From the time we told our boys where we were going, they were overwhelmed with excitement. As we pulled into the parking lot, we had non-stop chatter of questions and comments about the castle and everything they could see from the outside. Our three-year-old daughter didn't understand what Medieval Times was but she had seen enough princess movies to get really excited when she caught a glimpse of the castle.
As we entered the castle, we were warmly greeted by staff in full dress and character. As a kid, my grandparents use to take me and my siblings to Medieval Times, so, of course, I had to follow tradition and get the kids Shirley Temples. They were feeling like royalty before ever stepping foot into the actual show arena. Their attention was kept by the detailed decoration and the many wonderfully displayed souvenirs. Our boys wound up leaving with a couple daggers they purchased with their Christmas money!
The Show at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament
After being seated on the front row, we were enthusiastically met by our waitress for the evening. She explained what to expect and quickly began serving our drinks and meal for the evening (which was delicious, by the way!). Our family enjoyed all of the meal but the chicken was a big hit!
Throughout the show, our table was filled with "oohhhhs", "ahhhs", and "did you see that?". Between the dancing horses, the jousting knights, the flying falcons, and the amazing sword fights the show was packed with non-stop excitement and thrills that kept our family entertained throughout the entire show! All three kids are already begging to go back. Step back into time with YOUR family for a knight of fun!
