The Polar Express is a delightful train ride from Saratoga Station to the “North Pole”. The ride is about 1 hour round trip that is full of action and music. There are many friendly faces to help you find your seat. The conductor makes his way to stamp your tickets, then the train starts moving and you are on your way! On the way up, the friendly cooks come dancing around serving hot chocolate and cookies while they sing their songs.
As the train chugs north, the famous book “The Polar Express” by Chris Van Allsburg book is read over a loud speaker and the pages are presented to the children from the cooks in the isle. The train ride is a parody to a doubting boy who boards a magical train that's headed to the North Pole and Santa Claus's home.
(The hobo on the train looks exactly like the one in the movie!!)
As the story concludes and the children’s excitement is peaked, we reach the climax of the journey, the North Pole. You can peer outside the train to see the North Pole village. Santa and his Elves are merrily waving and dancing.
As a surprise, Santa and his elves board the train for the ride back home. Santa gives the children a commemorative Jingle bell and everyone signs Christmas Carols all the way home.
It’s certainly a memorative experience that families could partake each year as a family tradition. The constant activity and attentive staff raise the energy level, making each moment exciting and suspenseful. The train ride is a great way to welcome the holiday season.
