It’s a simple fact that all kids are different. Some require less guidance than others. Some require 24 hour surveillance. Each one of them has different needs but if there’s one thing they all have in common it’s that they seem to make silly decisions quite often. Some of these decisions have smaller consequences than others and unfortunately some of them can be life altering.
Life is filled with so many more choices for them to make than when we were kids. We had to make the choice to come inside when the streets light came on. When we did our parents knew we were safe. Our kids have to make choices on what to click into and when in the Cyber World that never sleeps. Keeping our kids safe can be challenging and exhausting. Sometimes as parents we can get overworked, overtired, and overwhelmed.
I’ve said before the Internet is like a playground for Pedophiles. Even if your child is more mature or makes more decisions than most kids they can easily become the target of our world’s professional monsters. Real people live on the other side of that computer screen just waiting for our children to slip up with some identifying information.
We can’t really keep them off the computer. It’s the way of life and they need it to learn. It can be easier for them to stay in contact with family along with many other benefits for learning. As parents it’s our job to keep them safe. Any tool to make it a little easier can really go a long way.
Kidsemail.org is a great tool for all types of Mom’s. It can make life a little easier for lazy Mom’s, overwhelmed Mom’s, and Type A Mom’s will especially love it!
