I was sent a copy of ”The Mommy MD Guide to Losing Weight and Feeling Great” by Rallie McAllister, MD, MPH and Jennifer Bright Reich for review. I’ve been trying to lose weight for a while now and being a mother of 5 children I never put myself first. In doing so it has led to weight gain, fatigue and feeling out of shape! I would love to lose weight and feel better so I was very happy to be able to check out this book.

Their books and website feature tips that doctors who are also mothers use for their own families. They’re experts–squared! Their mission is to help moms raise healthier, happier families.
I rarely have time to read but I really like this book so I have made time each day to read a few pages. One of my favorite things right off the bat was it has little quotes of famous people and quotes from other parents just like me that feel the same way. It is always nice to know that I am not alone in this situation. Not only do they list tips for losing weight but they also have a chapter that has yummy recipes to help you be healthy and feeling great. One of the recipes that has caught my eye that I want to make my husband real soon is the “Healthy Buffalo Chicken Dip”. He loves anything buffalo. =) I myself have tried the “Busy Morning Oatmeal”. It’s simple to make and keeps you full and helps start your day. Also included in the book is a Daily Food Log to track what you ate for each meal and how many calories, ect. I find that nice to have in the book so it’s right there handy and not another piece of paper to keep track of.
If you feel like your in a slump and want to lose weight or just want to feel great and have more energy this book is for you! =)
