We took a boat tour to the Statue of Liberty while in NYC. It was throughClassic Harbor Line and I got the tickets free through US Family Guide. Unfortunately, Princess wasn’t feeling well the day we were scheduled to board the luxury Yacht Manhattan for a harbor cruise to Lady Liberty. We did a city tour that morning, so by the time we got to the pier, she was dragging.
It didn’t help that we got there way early. The heat and sunshine was killing her head, so we went in a little sandwich shop there at the pier. They had couches upstairs she lounged while I munched on tomato soup and grilled cheese. Oh, it was so GOOD! The place is cleverly called‘wichcraft.
I was really looking forward to the harbor cruise, so I decided to chance it and bring a kiddo who wasn’t feeling well on a boat ride. Luckily her headache didn’t turn to nausea. She did sleep most of the cruise, though.
The Yacht Manhattan is fancy! There are two levels – open air on top and then an area with picture windows and cushioned seating below. We were below. Your ticket gets you your first beverage, including wine from the bar. We both had Coke. There’s a lengthy beverage menu for the bar, as well as snacks you can order, such as a cheese platter. You can also bring on your own picnic.
Princess woke up to see the Statue of Liberty. Sort of. She came alive enough to look out the window.
I went on the top deck and soaked in her beauty.
She’s really glorious.
I enjoyed taking in the sights as we cruised. I find bridges so beautiful.
The whole trip was about two hours.
And I’m thankful Princess didn’t throw up while on the Statue of Liberty cruise. Classic Harbor Line does an amazing job, so I’m sure they would have been wonderful about it. I loved my time on the Yacht Manhattan, despite my teenager sleeping through most of the cruise.
